GRAND JUNCTION, Colo – The Grand Junction Police Department is continuing its investigation of a possible assault. We are gathering information and evidence to piece together exactly what lead up to a woman receiving serious injuries.
A possible suspect has been taken into custody. At this point we have not charged him in relation to this morning’s incident, however he has been booked into the jail for parole violations.

Previously Released Information:
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo – On July 28, 2011 at approximately 0240 hrs, Grand Junction Police officers were dispatched to the area of Northern Way and Patterson Rd. on the report of an unknown problem.
Upon arrival in the area of Northern Way and Patterson Road Officers located a female with injuries from an assault. The victim was known to the suspect, who was taken into custody in the area of Northern Way and Patterson Road.
The suspect and victim’s names are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
The victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of her injuries. It is unknown the extent of the injuries at this time but they do involve serious bodily injury.
