A woman riding a bus through Grand Junction is now facing felony drug charges, after Western Colorado Drug Task Force officers found approximately 8 pounds of marijuana inside her luggage.

The bust came during a routine drug and weapon check last Friday at the Greyhound Station here in Grand Junction.  A DTF drug sniffing dog alerted to the presence of drugs while the passengers were waiting for the bus to be serviced inside the Greyhound garage.  The DTF officers could also smell raw marijuana coming from a duffle bag in the luggage bin inside the bus.

After the passengers re-boarded to continue their trip, the officers identified the owner of the bag, 19-year-old Haley Jo Corder of McKinleyville, CA.  A judge signed a search warrant for her bag, and DTF officers found several vacuum sealed packages containing approximately 8 pounds of marijuana.  Corder was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana, a class 6 felony.  The approximate street value of the marijuana is $20,000.
