How much do you really know about what happens inside the Grand Junction Police Department, Grand Junction Fire Department, and Grand Junction Regional Communication Center (911)? Every year we give citizens the chance to learn, in a very hands-on fashion, all aspects of these agencies through our Citizens Public Safety Academy, and registration for the Spring 2014 academy is now open. The first class starts February 20.
During this 15-week academy you’ll have the chance to be a detective and investigate a mock crime scene, use the “jaws of life” to break open a car, listen to 911 calls, get questions answered by our drug enforcement officers, and much more. The class schedule is packed full of interesting topics that will give you the inside scoop.
The classes take place on Thursday nights from 6-9pm, with the exception of one Saturday daytime class on May 17.
There are a limited number of spaces available, and spots fill up quickly, so you’ll want to sign up early. The deadline for registering is February 7.
