A witness reported seeing a woman being assaulted Monday inside a pickup truck while it was stopped at the light at the intersection of 12th St. and North Ave.

The Grand Junction Police Department is trying to get more information about an incident that was reported to us on Monday, February 10.  A person called 911 to report that a woman in the passenger seat of a dark blue Dodge Ram 1500 was being assaulted by the man driving the pickup.  The incident happened around 11:00 am on 12th St. near North Ave.

The witness said the woman was screaming loudly and appeared to be trying to get out of the vehicle, but the driver pulled her back into the truck.  The vehicle left the area before officers were able to get there, and the witness was not able to get a license plate number.

    Can’t they get the plates from the traffic cams? I hope they find the bastard and that she’s ok considering!

      Unfortunately, no. The traffic cameras do not record- they are live images only.
