Upcoming Sexual Assault Prevention Presentation Being Offered to Local Young Men & Women and Their Parents #GVCopBeat
The statistics may shock you, but the tools you’ll receive will empower you.
Each year, local law enforcement investigates sexual assault incidents involving young men and women in our community. In an effort to reduce or even eliminate those incidents, the Grand Junction Police Department is inviting all area high school juniors, seniors and their parents, as well as college freshman to attend a two-hour presentation on preventing sexual assault.
This very powerful presentation for both young men and women, will help you learn how to spot potentially dangerous situations, what to do if you or someone you know is a victim of sexual assault, what happens during a criminal investigation, and resources that are available. Experts from several different fields will be on hand to answer your questions and provide you with important information.
Due to the graphic nature of some of the content, students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian with them.
The presentation will be held on Thursday, April 10 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Grand Junction Police Department (555 Ute Ave.).
If you have any questions please call 970-549-5114.
