GJPD Investigating a Shot Fired in the 2800 Block of Mesa Ave. This Evening #GVCopBeat

The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a shot that was fired in the 2800 block of Mesa Ave. at approximately 6:00pm this evening.

One male juvenile is in custody. We have recovered what appears to be a bullet from a nearby  house. No one was injured.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending. We have not recovered a gun at this point.

    Right next to my house. Come one Grand Junction, why are we having crime like this all over the place. We cant even let our kids out to play in their neighborhoods for fear of getting shot by a stray bullet. My kids happen to be in the house last night when the shot was fired but normally would have been in that area. Lets get this under control.

    This kid is dangerous n is going to keep being a lil punk. He assaulted my son 2 different times n needs to be locked up for the safety of his community n his peers .
