Traffic Alert: North Ave at 28 Rd To Be Closed Briefly Today Starting at 2 pm For Crash Investigation #GVCopBeat #gjco

Posted on

The Grand Junction Police Department will be closing the intersection of North Ave. and 28 Rd for an undetermined amount of time starting at 2:00 p.m. today.  This is to continue an investigation of a serious injury crash involving a man on a bicycle that was hit by a pickup truck driver.  The crash happened at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 2.

At this point in the investigation we believe a man on a bicycle was heading northbound on 28 Rd. and was hit by a man driving a pickup truck heading westbound.  The bicyclist was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries.

The temporary closure of the intersection is necessary so officers can map the scene.  Please avoid that intersection until their work is complete. We will send out an update when the intersection has reopened.

I know this man. It just doesn’t seem like he would do that.
