The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Chipeta Ave.

Just after 6:00 p.m. officers responded to a verbal disturbance and a shots fired call.  The victim had run from the scene, but officers later found him nearby hiding in a tree.  It appears a bullet did go through his pants, but missed his body.  He was taken to the hospital as a precaution to be evaluated.

At this time we have not located the suspect. Investigators are on scene gathering information and evidence. We will post more information as it becomes available.
