Multiple Crashes In GJ Affected Traffic This Morning #GVCopBeat

A handful of crashes affected  traffic in Grand Junction this morning.

A 2 vehicle crash on Patterson Rd near Petsmart had all lanes of traffic shut while first responders investigated and had the vehicles moved out of the way. At this point in the investigation we believe the driver of a Chevy SUV was making a left turn into the mall and was hit by the driver of a Toyota SUV. The Chevy rolled. At leaimagest one person was transported to the hospital. The injuries appeared to be minor.

All lanes of traffic at that intersection were temporarily closed but have since reopened.

A second crash at 9th and Pitkin at about the same time this morning also caused some traffic troubles. At this point in the investigation we believe the driver of a sedan ran a red light and collided with a van, causing the van to roll.  The van came to rest on its wheels. One person inside the van was transported with what appeared to be minor injuries.

Crews are finishing the cleanup on that scene and the intersection will reopen in a few minutes.
