Recently, the Grand Junction Police Department has received reports of homes being burglarized in the southwest quadrant of the city. Specifically, the items stolen from these homes have been women’s underwear, as well as other women’s accessories, such as shoes. In the reports we’ve received, the residents have been gone at the time of the thefts.
The Grand Junction Police Department is actively investigating these reports, to include focusing increased patrols in the area. We rely on our community to partner with us by immediately reporting any suspicious activity that they observe. PLEASE lock your doors and windows, even when you’re home, and especially when you’re gone. While these reports are originating from the downtown area, we encourage anyone, in any area of the city, to call non-emergency dispatch immediately if you see anything that may be suspicious. Further, if you believe you may have been a victim of a similar crime, and you haven’t reported it to the police, please do so. Non-emergency dispatch is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be reached by calling (970)242-6707.
