Update 4:17pm: All emergency communication lines have been restored to normal function. Initial reports indicate that the outage resulted in little to no impact on the citizens in Mesa County. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
Emergency communication lines are currently down in south central Colorado. Because the phone system for the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center is tandem, or linked, to the Montrose Communication Center, this has reduced the number of GJRCC 9-1-1 lines to three active lines. If you dial 9-1-1 and experience trouble getting through, please hang up and dial the non-emergency line, which is (970)242-6707. As soon as our lines are functioning normally again, we will let you know. Remember; we still have three active 9-1-1 lines. In case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1. Only call the non-emergency line in the unlikely event that you are unable to get through when dialing 9-1-1. Thank you.
