009The Grand Junction Police Department is pleased to share that Chief John Camper has been recognized by the Colorado Information Sharing Consortium for his leadership in creating state wide centralized access to criminal justice records for agencies across Colorado.

Since 2005, when Chief Camper was a Division Chief for the Lakewood Police Department, he was one of many law enforcement representatives who led the initiative to streamline the process of information sharing among public safety agencies around the state by forming the Colorado Information Sharing Consortium, which has grown to 56 member agencies today.

Dave Shipley, the CISC Manager and retired Commander with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, presented Chief Camper with a leadership award at last night’s City Council meeting.  Commander Shipley stated, “Chief Camper helped to focus a law enforcement information sharing movement and prepare it for statewide expansion.  His reliable, measured, thoughtful insights added great value to the CISC, and provided the firm foundation necessary for innovation and growth.”

Congratulations, Chief Camper!
