Have a safe New Year #GVCopBeat

Posted on Updated on

With the New Year’s Eve Celebrations almost upon us the Grand Junction Police Department wants to remind people to celebrate safely. If you’re going to be out celebrating, plan ahead and don’t drink, or smoke, and drive. The best way to ensure that you are sober is to not consume alcohol or marijuana. You don’t have to be drunk or baked to get a DUI, a little buzzed is enough. DUI drivers are often surprised at how little alcohol or marijuana it takes to become impaired. Plan ahead, get a taxi, driver service or a sober designated driver. Extra officers will be out looking for impaired drivers over the holiday.

And if it isn’t bad enough being a holiday celebration, it is also a full moon. Stay safe out there!
