GJPD Investigating Attempted Armed Robbery #GVCopBeat

At approximately 6:00pm this evening, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to the Family Dollar at 30 Road and Patterson on a report of a suspect who attempted to rob the store after displaying a handgun. No one was injured, and the suspect was reported to have fled the area in a passenger car.

Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department and deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded immediately and searched the area, but did not locate the suspect, who was described as a male in his mid 20s, possibly wearing a mask over his face, as well as a hood. Officers are processing the scene for potential evidence and interviewing witnesses.
